The plantation houses of Lāna`i have such a simple, welcoming style, and I just had to paint this one. The red door of this quiet little house was basing in the warm light of the late afternoon sun when it caught my eye. The plant beside the door is called a "money plant" by the locals; it's said to bring good luck to the household.
