Marge was landed on a charter fishing trip off of Lāna‘i by a family who lives here, and by a very experience Captain born and raised on island.  Blue Marlin (Makaira mazara) are one of the top game fish sought after by anglers.  They can often be found near schools of tuna feeding on them.  Many fisherman use live tuna as bait, but Marge was caught with only a lure.  The captain called me over after the trip and we struggled to print this 180 pound fish in the wind!  Marge fed several families including the captain’s, crews’, and the family who reeled her in. The original print was completed in black, white, and gray tones.  Whites often turn a blue hue in my prints, so I leave this color in my reproductions as well.
